What is the Aim of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Relay?
To raise public awareness regarding the importance of CPR in a fun and easy way.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), coronary heart disease is the number 1 killer in Malaysia, accounting for 22.18% of the total deaths in 2010. However, up to 47% of the total mortality are preventable by pre hospital treatment. Hence, it is important to cultivate an environment where Malaysians are able to manage an emergency life threatening situation until medical aids arrive.
What is in it for you?
- For you to acquire the knowledge and skills of basic CPR in order to save a person’s life in an emergency.
- You will be participating in Malaysia’s first CPR Relay!
- There are free goodie bags for all participants!
When would you start a CPR?
When you found someone who is unresponsive and not breathing due to reasons such as:
1. heart attack
3. drug overdosed
*Continue until emergency medical service or an automated external defibrillator (AED) is available.
